Hey guys, so as you know, this wiki has a policy where users are NOT allowed to create variations of GTA games that use content that already exists (for example, creating a game based around Trevor Phillips, having CJ die, etc.) Do you guys think this policy should stay as is, or should be changed to allow more creative freedom? This IS the GTA Fanon Wiki, after all. Please respond here with your thoughts and perhaps we can come to a consensus.
What's on your mind?

Policies and Rules
Hello again, it's been a while since I'm updating this policy/rule, since I am quite to busy for a while and cannot monitor all current activities in this wiki.
The original link of this policy: https://gtafanon.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000002069
The problem of the current classification rule is the confusion, the "grey" area, on how exactly we determine a project to be "Decent", "Modest", or "Mediocre". Plus, the use of status classes (Finished, Ongoing, etc) is rather unnecessary.
Thus, I propose a revamp of my own "project classification". Rather than differentiating projects into many categories of quality and status, we will simply classify projects in this wiki in two categories:
Submission - All new projects are now considered as "submission" first. Creators of submission must develop and improve their concept overtime, and have it monitored/reviewed by other wiki members. Creators are given a deadline (like six months or more) to have their submission approved by wiki members, or else it will be deleted.
Project - Once a "submission" is approved by wiki members, it is now officially recognized as a proper "project". Regardless of their completion status, all projects will be placed in "Grand Theft Auto titles" category.
Hopefully, this will encourage creators even more to dedicate actual effort on their concept. At the same time, however, all active members must be supportive to new creators, and not bullying/hating them.
So, what do you guys think? and I'm also calling @Chris6d as admin for this one.
As what I have discussed with @Chris6d about cleanup, i'm going to to categorize all the projects in this wiki according to their status and quality. This includes all fan games and fan stories. Other articles such as fan-made vehicles and locations are excluded from the equation.
The reason I want to do this is to filter this wiki from overabundance of low-quality and abandoned projects. The classification will be used to make the filter process easier.
Status
Finished - Projects which content already completed and no longer requires constant editing. Original author(s) are still allowed to edit and expand the content of a finished project. Example: King of The Hill by @Loopiz.
Ongoing - Projects that is currently worked by their author(s).
Hiatus - Projects that is unedited by their author(s) for a month or more.
Abandoned - If a project is untouched for more than 12-month, it is considered to be abandoned by its author(s).
Quality - This include the project's premise, writing, and organizing.
Decent - Projects with good premise and execution, well-written, and organized article design. Example: The After Dark Scene by @Raniero R.
Modest - Projects with promising premise, but with grammar, spelling, and article design that require some fixing.
Mediocre - Poorly-written projects that definitely require extensive editing.
Any project that classified as both abandoned and mediocre will be deleted. However, author(s) of related project will be notified before the deletion. They will have one month (or more) to upgrade the project quality, at least to modest rate. If no improvement whatsoever made, the project will be deleted.
The main Grand Theft Auto titles category (in the navigation bar) should only include project with decent quality, regardless of their status (so project like The After Dark Scene can stay in the category). Hopefully, this will motivate all creators to do the best if they want to be featured in the main category.
All the projects (and their author, status, and quality) will be listed in Grand Theft Auto Fanon Wiki:Projects.
Note that this is still a proposal. I haven't contacted @Raniero R yet (he seems to be last active in September). I'm open for comment and suggestion.
A number of articles on this wiki have recently been deleted because they had no categories. Wiki policy specifically states that any article with no categories will be deleted. This has happened already. So if you wake up the next morning and find your article has been deleted because it violated this policy, don't cry, because you broke the policy.
Also, if you are warned once about making an article with no categories and you do it again after, you will be blocked from editing here. If you want a specific article that you made back, you can ask me and I'll restore it. Keep in mind that I'm not being mean, I'm just enforcing the rules and policies of this great wiki, which is my job (as admin). So if you have any questions, you can contact me directly, or here. Thank you.
Recently, GTAF had an issue in which an administrator deleted the articles of a user that violated this rule, which had not yet been officially posted, without giving a warning. Due to this, the rule is being made official.
The Canon Association Restriction (CAR) is as follows:
No user's characters may be affiliated with, or their games involve, characters from canon Grand Theft Auto titles.
I believe that there should be solid guidelines for this wiki. One important aspect is the regulation of vandalism, whether by IP addresses or registered users. Here is an example guideline:
First offence — Warning
Second offence — Warning
Third offence — 24-hour suspension
Fourth offence — 7-day suspension
Fifth offence — Permanent suspension
I recently cleared the wiki's cache of unused pictures. I will periodically do so from here on out - pictures that are left unused when I clear the cache will be deleted. If you plan to use them but do not have them on their respective page, please inform me of this or you may have to re-upload the image.
While this policy has already been instated in a blog post, I feel as though it is not readily accessible to users who did not see the blog post. In this, we have made a mistake.
The Game/DLC Creation Policy is as follows:
Games/DLCs cannot be created without the consent of RavenRT and Raniero R. In order to get consent, a message must be left on their message walls leaving a semi-short summary of the game/DLC.
Failure to get this permission will no longer result in a "candidate for deletion" template being put up, but rather an instant deletion, as this discussion has been highlighted so that all users will see it.
