The 296 GTx overall strongly takes resemblance from various Alfa Romeo cars but with a more racing nature, with the overall bodywork and shape resembling as the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI, especially from its racing wing and body kit. Its headlights are borrowed from the Alfa Romeo 164 whereas its taillight shape is shared from the Alfa Romeo GTV and Spider. Although it has four-doors, only the driver and passenger side is openable as it only has two seats, and the 296 GTX lacks a backseat.
