The Grotti 669 is an Italian grand tourer. It is featured in GTA Online, added as part of GTA Online: Heists Part Two.
- ❝Brutish yet beautiful, focused yet fun, the 669 is the girl next door of Italian grand tourers. It may not be the best looking, or the fastest, but it ticks all the right boxes right when you need that little spark of joy in your life that your pitiful banking job can't give you.❞
- — Legendary Motorsport description.
Description[]
Mainly based on the Ferrari 599 (although upgrades can make it look like the 599XX or even the one-off P540 Superfast), the 669 is a powerful grand tourer. The car is very fast in a straight line and stable around corners, but due to its weight struggles around corners at high speeds - the 669 is by no means a track machine, not that it was meant to be one. The top speed is slightly lower than that of the Itali GTO, which is understandable as it is a predecessor to it.
The styling is a combination of early 2000s Ferrari design language. While retaining the general shape of the 599, the 669 borrows its headlights from the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, taillights from the oft-overlooked Ferrari 456 GT Venice, side intakes from the F430, and other minor details from other cars. The car is also the first car in GTA Online to have the ability to have the stock hard top replace by a metal folding roof - cars in the past could not have active roofs added to them. This is a specialist upgrade, however, so costs $30,000. The upgrade changes a significant portion of the rear of the car, and combined with other upgrades makes the car look like the one-off P540 Superfast.
Weaponised 669[]
The Weaponised 669 is a variation of the 669.
- ❝Beautiful yet brutish, fun yet focused, the Weaponised 669 is the Navy Seal next door of Italian grand tourers. It may not be the best looking, or the fastest, but it ticks all the right boxes right when you need to get rid of a roadblock and you fancy brute force.❞
- — Legendary Motorsport description.
The Weaponised 669 has the same performance as the regular 669 but has armour plating across the body and windows, and bulletproof windows and tyres. The car is equipped with a roof-mounted machine gun. This is an unusual implementation of the weapon, as it locks on to targets to allow for accurate aiming. The machine gun can also be controlled manually by the player in the passenger seat. When the vehicle is stopped, the driver can also switch to the passenger seat to control it. A screen and joystick can be seen on the dashboard of the passenger seat.
The machine gun can be upgraded to more accurate and more powerful, or replaced with a guided rocket launcher. Additionally, countermeasures and rear-launched proximity mines can be added to the Weaponised 669.
Trivia[]
- The default radio stations are FlyLo FM, SuperAmbient Radio and Los Santos Underground Radio.
- Unusually for cars in GTA Online, the taillights fade smoothly in and out. The effect is subtle, and is best seen in the dark.
