Across The Bay is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: Life in San Fierro given to the protagonist, Demetrius El Rey Ajedrez, by close friend and fellow Rifa, Quinto Cardeñoso.
Plot[]
Quinto was checking his wetski before noticing Demetrius approaching the water and called out to Demetrius. Demetrius approached and asked what he was doing in which Quinto told that he found out that the CEO of Ponsonby's son, Bucky Antonopoulos, was partaking in the annual bay race and was told that he occasional partook in some jay himself and thus wants to use him to get more buyers for their supply of jay. Quinto asked him to take part in the race and will offer him $1000 if he did in which Demetrius stated he was hoping for swim but agreed as Quinto told him that the race required $20'000 to enter as a racer.
Demetrius made his way over to the starting point in which the master of ceremonies told him that entry was $20K in which Demetrius tossed over and duffel bag in which earned the attention of Bucky Antonopoulos and asked if he had ever partook in the race before in which he confirmed that he hasn't before smugly telling him that he'll go easy on him. The race began as they sped across the bay avoiding boats, sailboats, and catamarans while utilising the jumps provided before eventually reaching finish line at Pier 69.
Demetrius was congratulated and thanked for his $20k donation which will go into medical research as he nodded at them as Quinto arrived to collect the wetski before telling him to talk to Bucky. Demetrius nodded before heading over to Bucky as he got in his banshee before noticing Demetrius and told him that he was impressed with Demetrius asking if wanted better quality jay in which peaked Bucky's interest - he confirmed that he did and with Demetrius told him to help him expand his jay businesses and he'll make sure he only gets the best quality that the Rifa grows themselves - telling that their weed originally came from Eastern Asia. Bucky agreed before living area in which Demetrius waved goodbye to Quinto as he left the area.

The reward for completing this mission is $1,000. The mission Sink or... Actually Just Sink is unlocked.
Aftermath[]
- Quinto will call after that they were beginning to move the weed they've been sitting on thanks to Bucky's connections in which Demetrius commented on them being fast before telling him to meet him at his place when he has the time.
