The Bajos are a network of Mexican-American street gangs in Southern San Andreas. They make an appearance in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas HD.

Information[]

The Bajos, often meaning 'Barrios Aztec Juveniles' is a prison gang, and street gang network based around the entirety of Southern San Andreas. They operate and act as an umbrella to the various Mexican-American Chicano Street Gangs, in cities such as, Los Santos, Palomino Beach, San Julio, etc. The pay homage to the Mexican Protection/La Proteccion prison organisation. Thus many Bajos sets have the number '16' in their names to show affiliation. As P is the 16th letter in the alphabet. It is often stylised as Roman numeral, XVI. The Bajos are known for the aggressive decades long conflict, with the Northern San Andreas-based, Altos gang, which are their main enemies. The beef stems back to the 1950's. Despite this, there have been exceptions to this rule with some Bajos and Altos sets maintaining a working partnership, e.g. the Los Santos Vagos and the San Fierro Rifa, in 1992, when they helped guard Big Smoke's Crack Empire, though when T-Bone Mendez, the Rifa leader, was killed, relations soured, and when the empire collapsed, they saw no more use in each other, and hostilities quickly resumed.
