The Blaine County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) was a county law enforcement agency that is mentioned in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Description[]
It is unknown when the Blaine County Sheriff's Office was founded. Whether it was part of the San Andreas Police Department is unknown, though it is likely.
According to Lieutenant Carrs, the BCSO was extremely corrupt, violent, and overfunded, often placing the department's own concerns or needs over those of the rest of Blaine County. According to Carrs, the BCSO owned "only the worst businesses" in Blaine County, and racketed the rest. They also gave The Lost MC and other gangs clearance to operate in Blaine County unabated.
The BCSO issue remained until the early 2000s, when the San Andreas state government stepped in and announced that the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department would be taking over policing for Blaine County. However, the state government "fixed" the issue by simply merging the BCSO with the LSSD; this did not actually change anything, as the former BCSO deputies still had power and jurisdiction over Blaine County, but the state government apparently believed the issue was resolved anyways and currently refuses to touch the issue again.
When he tells the player this story, Carrs remarks that he does not know why the state government did not assign the San Andreas Highway Patrol to Blaine County instead, as "the whole place is a highway anyways".
