The City of Champaign, commonly known as Champaign, is a major city located in the State of Jolliet. Champaign is based on Chicago, Illinois. Champaign is named after another city in Illinois.

NOTE: Anyone is welcome to use his city in a game or other projects, just do not change anything about it.

Like its real-life counterpart, Champaign is a huge sprawling metropolis with various different cultures, ranging from the rich people and places in Suburban Park and Richman Coast to the hood life of Endlewood, just to name a few.

Champaign plays as the principal of the Champaign metropolitan area, the most developed and populated city in the state and 3rd most populated in the country.

Champaign is divided into 3 main sides and 40 neighborhoods.

Geography[]

The 4 main sides (North, West, South and Downtown)
North Side

The 2nd safest side of the city but not completely safe.

This side of the city is filled with suburbs and a touch of gang violence.

This area is also where Midpoint International Airport (MIA), The 12th busiest airport in the world operates and the first place you will step foot in when coming to the city.

West Side

The most ghetto and most dangerous side of the city. With the neighborhoods like Asani and West and East Dearborn Park, this is the most dangerous side of the city with a lot of gang violence going on there. These neighborhoods are mostly low-income housing with a predominantly African-American population.

South Side

Mostly low income homes with some of the cities top worst neighborhoods like Endlewood, Lincoln Park, and Greater Magnificent Junction. While this side of the city is very dangerous, there is a good suburban side to it like Cinderglow, and Rockford. This side is the most notorious and well known side of the city.

Downtown

The safest and most rich side of the city. This area has a magnificent view of Lake Chippewa and a nice breeze from it. The beautiful skyline and various landmarks in this area make this the best area of the city to be in.

Their motto is "Survive if you Obey" which is inscribed on their squad cars. They use newer Vapid Police Cruisers and Police Maverick helicopters like the LSPD. They use a Vapid Radius with police lights as their undercover cars. The colors of their vehicles are white, light blue, and red. Their uniform consists of a light blue shirt, black pants, and sometimes a black bulletproof vest.

The National Office of Security Enforcement also has a presence in the city of Champaign. They are deployed when a very dangerous activity like a mass shootout or terrorist activity is happening. They can be found in high security places like Midpoint International Airport armed with Carbine Rifles.

Crime[]

Champaign was known to be a major place for organized crime families like the Champaign Outfit in the 1920's. The Champaign outfit is has been active in the city since 1910 and currently operate in the city's central and west sides. Plenty of the neighborhoods in Champaign suffer from high crime rates specifically the west and south sides. Since the 1990's Champaign has suffered from drug trades, gun violence and plenty of other things between the gangs in the city. The drugs the city suffered and kind of still suffer from are crack, meth, and marijuana. Despite not being the most dangerous city in the country, the city is still more dangerous than Los Santos and Liberty City. The city had its worst year since the 1990's in 2016 with 762 people murdered. Since then, the city's crime rate has dropped every year until another spike in 2020. In 2020, there were 769 people murdered, 7 more people then 2016. This is a number not seen since 1994, which had 838 people murdered.

Beside the organized crime, the south and west sides of the city suffer from a large amount of gun crimes and murder with the most dangerous neighborhoods being:

  1. West Dearborn Park
  2. Lincoln Park
  3. East Dearborn Park
  4. Endlewood
  5. Asani
  6. Greater Magnificent Junction
  7. West Endlewood
  8. Hemerich
  9. South Lake Champaign
  10. Rosedale

Most of these crimes are caused by the two long time rival African-American street gangs, the Project Disciples and the Gang Disciples, alongside other African-American gangs like the Black G. Rocks, Wicked Kings, and Black Vipers and a Mexican-American street gang called the Spanish Lords. They are involved in drug trade and arms-trafficking bringing in and buying illegal weapons on the streets like SMG's, Assault Rifles, and many more. Their locations can be seen on the Champaign gang map

Other than street gangs, their is a popular crime family called the Champaign Outfit that has operated in the city since 1910. They were very popular in the 1920's with their mob leader, K.L. Capone.

Weather[]

Weather in Champaign is very mixed. It can be nice and sunny one day, then snow the next. The city gets very cold in the winter with the coldest average being around 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 Celsius), It also gets very hot in the summer with the average temperature being around 80 degreed Fahrenheit (26 Celsius). The average rainfall is around 4 inches (101.6 mm) and the average snowfall being around 10 inches (254 mm). Downtown is usually colder because of the breeze from Lake Chippewa. The sky is commonly blue but gray when raining, snowing, or cloudy. At night, the sky is usually a darker purple color and sometimes a blueish purple color.
