Austin Tyko is a Swedish-American criminal who is not to be messed with. He has some small instances of PTSD after fighting in the army for a very short period of time. Upon returning from the battlefields, he developed some depression and did alcohol and psychoactive drugs. One day, he tried robbing a Liquor Store in Mitchell Springs but was soon met with tragedy as the clerk behind the register died from a heart attack. After that, Austin was sentenced to an unknown amount of years in prison without parole, until one fateful night when he another prisoner by the name of Kyle Miller just barely escaped. After that, they came across a Trailer Park where they would steal the tractor trailer from a drunken trucker who just happened to be going to bed for the night. They then drove down to Las Venturas, which was Austin's hometown. There, they get involved with a Motel Owner, Ramza Salah, who offers to give them a nice place to stay if they help him. This then leads to Austin meeting up with his childhood best friend, Patrick Perry, who asks Austin to help steal some sweet cars for him. Austin then has a shootout with a gang called the East Side Disciple after Patrick tells Austin about how they've been putting pressure on his business.
Kyle Miller, born in San Fierro, was a rebellious teenager who settled down with his family over in Mitchell Springs where he would buy and do drugs—mainly heroin—before he'd go out and commit crimes. His parents were good people, but that didn't mean that Kyle had to be. He was known for having an unpredictable temper when in 1991, he was arrested for second-degree murder and sentenced to an unspecified amount of time in prison. One night, he escaped with another prisoner by the name of Austin Tyko, before they both would head back on down to their hometown of Las Venturas.
Patrick Perry was Austin's childhood best friend and later after breaking out of prison, reunited best friends. Austin and Kyle used to hang out a lot as they didn't live too far away from eachother, Austin living in a small wooden shack on a hill on the edge of nowhere and Kyle being in a regular looking house not too far away, the two became best friends until Austin signed up to be in the army. Patrick tried to join his best pal but was denied from entering because of having an extreme case of asthma. In later life, Patrick opened up his own Mod Shop/Car Dealership where he'd try and sell nice cars to people, yet he didn't get that much business. Patrick made a small mistake of opening up shop near the territory of the East Side Disciples, a gang of African American people who were always loaded. One day, Patrick was aesthetic to see his best friend again, along with Austin's new friend that he the picked up in the joint. Some time after this, Austin meets up Patrick's sister, a girl who he used to date back in high school, causing them to start dating again, which makes Patrick moderately uncomfortable.
Ramza Salah is a Middle Eastern Motel owner in Northern Las Venturas. Kyle knows him from his days before prison and used his Motel as a place to get easy drugs and easy women. He allows Kyle and Austin to hide out in his Motel because of his connection to Kyle before going to jail. In exchange for letting them stay there, however, they must do a few odd jobs Ramza and some other activities that will help Ramza out.
Kristi Perry (full name Kristina) is Patrick Perry's little sister and girlfriend of Patrick's best friend, Austin Tyko. Her early life was nothing crazy as she never got into any trouble or did any criminal-like things. When she was a teenager, she began dating Austin Tyko before he joined the army and eventually got himself locked up in prison. Once she grew up, she would occasionally visit Patrick and his little shop as she moved farther away to the farther-away Bone County. One day, she meets up with Austin again, which leads to him taking her to a comedy routine place in the Lion's Den Casino called the Split Sides Comedy Show.
Harold Parson is a rich businessman who very self-indulged and owns multiple Casinos and Hotels in Venturas. He ends up being the Main Antagonist of GTA: Las Venturas. He first appears with Raymond Frank, someone who he is allegedly close friends with. Later in the game, he gets Austin to do odd jobs for him with little to no pay. He helps Austin find his family, however, which at the time seems good, until he reveals that he was just planning to knock down his childhood home in order to put up more casinos and hotels. This obviously does not fly with Austin, who sparks a rivalry between him and Harold. Harold tries to get Austin's killed in an ambush, but Austin succeeds in killing all of the mercenaries attacking.
Michael Goldman is a friendly neighborhood drug dealer who used to roam the streets of LV selling drugs to people. He was an old friend of Kyle's and still is as he used to be his main drug supplier. After Austin and Kyle's escape from the RSCF, Kyle meets back up with his old friend and gets him to present Austin with some work for himself including a shootout with the Badillo Cartel.
Miguel Vega is a semi-manic but overall pretty normal guy—atleast in Las Venturas—who is friends with Michael Goldman. He is seemingly always excited while sitting on his ass all day in a casino, talking about how he's gonna buy it someday and be rich, yet he is still mostly just gambling all day. Michael introduces Austin and Kyle to Miguel and says that he might have some work for them, and that he's a pretty nice guy.
Roy Zito is the Don and Former Underboss of the Gambetti Crime Family, who also has a partnership with Austin Tyko and Raymond Frank, despite being more fond of Austin for Ray's over the top drug addiction. Roy asks Austin to do some work for him that usually just involved killing other gang members in order to maintain the Gambetti's chance of going big in Venturas like they were formerly until they were pushed out by the FIB in the 80's.
