DP Systems is the main protagonist faction in Grand Theft Auto: Nexus City, and a minor faction in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Living. It was founded in 1940.
History[]
DP was founded by American entrepreneur Cave Johnson, who found a quadrillion-dollar petroleum reserve under his house, when he was just 28 years old.
With the money from the oil, Cave set out to change the world. During his 30-year term as CEO, he brought about numerous innovations, such as bionics, artificial intelligence and more. In 1967, Cave bought US$70 Billion worth of Lunar regolith from the Epsilon Program. He fell ill from silicosis. In 1970, he stepped down from his post as CEO, leaving his son Blake C. Johnson I in charge.
Under Blake I, DP flourished, as it enjoyed near-limitless funding from selling the oil reserves they had stockpiled to the USA, Ireland, the USSR (later Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan), the UK, and Saudi Arabia. While there was limitless funding, there were limited possibilities, and Blake I sought to end that before 2000. The events of GTA: San Andreas Living saw the cybernetic organism Blake Schumacher (Blake I's underboss after Karl Königsberg's death in 1990) get briefly tangled up in unrelated character Kevin M. Johnson's gang life.
Blake C. Johnson I retired in 2000, and passed the position of CEO down to his son, Albert B. Johnson I. Unlike his father, who died at the age of 71, Blake C. Johnson I lived to the age of 258, and died in 2200.
Pre-Grand Theft Auto: Nexus City[]
DP had numerous major innovations during the years between 2000 and 20400 (Including the Anti-Gravity Motor in 2035, collaborating with the European Anti-Gravity Symposium).
In spite of DP's many innovations, they have caused many disasters that changed the world beyond the foreseeable future.
- In the year 2525, they tried to annihilate an Earth trojan using its equivalent in antimatter, but accidentally created a never-before observed gravitational phenomenon, known as a Wakefield Sphere, named after the scientist who described it for the first time in detail (Dr. Ernest Wakefield). This phenomenon has disrupted the normal gravitational flow on the Earth permanently, and influenced plate tectonics, as Africa was split into two continents along the Nile as a direct result of the Wakefield Sphere.
- They are at fault for the Great Global Thermal Recession of 5358, when Gerald B. Johnson X accidentally contaminated the atmosphere of the Earth with volcanic ash, sending the whole planet into a volcanic winter and starting the Anthropocene Ice Age which it wouldn't recover from for another 90000 years. The temperatures dropped worldwide by 10 Kelvin, leaving global surface temperatures at 270.15 Kelvin (-3 Degrees Celsius/26.6 Degrees Fahrenheit), and thus this reversed 3400+ years of Global Warming within weeks.
A notable invention from before Tommi S. Johnson III's reign was the Dark Drive engine, used in numerous motherships and moving space stations. The Dark Drive used dark matter to create a dark energy sphere that accelerated the vehicle forward with immense power, allowing even the heaviest ones to reach 80% of the speed of light.
When Tommi III ascended to the position of CEO, numerous changes happened. Quite a lot of corruption was discovered among the employees, and those who were found to be corrupt were fired. Altogether, DP lost approximately 3000 employees on January 22nd, 20400.
