The Diablos are a gang based in Upstate Liberty.
Information[]
The Diablos are a Puerto Rican street gang based in the region of Upstate Liberty, State of Liberty, the gang are signified by their association with the colours Red and Blue, though it is mainly the younger members who wear the colours. The gang operates in Narcotics dealing and supply drugs to a few of the 5 families, the Ancelotti's and the Lupisella's to be specific. Members of the gang are often seen in groups of 3-8 talking about their gang lives or everyday life. They drive around in Stallions and Burritos, though some members can be seen riding on Sanchez dirt-bikes. The gang is decently armed wielding pistols, knives and micro uzis, though on occasions members may pull out a shotgun or a SMG, though this is only when they're provoked or attacked. If they are attacked by fist, they will wield knives, though if they attacked by any gun, they will pull out all the other weapons mentioned. The gang members wear clothes similar to their rivals, the Spanish Lords. The young members can be seen wearing baggy clothing, sports jerseys, trainers and bandanas in their colour. The gang also distribute other illegal goods such as counterfeit money, counterfeit mollis pills and Heroin, though their main source of income is from the Narcotics business.
History[]
Founding and Rise[]
The gang was founded around the late 1960's when a wave of Puerto Rican immigrants fled to East Coast states, such as Liberty, Alderney, etc. The immigrants were treated very badly and a lot of them were moved to Upstate Liberty, where they resided, a few teenage boys from these groups formed a gang, with the leader being Juan Espinoza aka El Músculo I, they named the gang the Diablos which means the Devils. The gang was originally made as a way of protection for the Latin-Americans, but once drugs began to become prominent in the area, the clique soon became a criminal gang. In the early-mid 1970's the gang were at their peak, controlling most of the Cocaine and Heroin distribution from Upstate to Downstate. This advantage led to the gang affiliating with some of the Mafia Families from the Commission. The gang also started to rock colours, their colours were Blue, White and Red, the colours of the Puerto Rican flag, they also began to get into the illegal street racing game, hosting many illegal street races around the state. These businesses started to make the gang a lot of money and income, but also a lot of Police attention. On May 22nd 1981, El Músculo I was shot dead in Purgatory, his young son Juan Espinoza Jr aka El Músculo II became the leader of the gang. The gang rose back to prominence during the late mid-late 80's, running many operations and having a lot of influence on the streets.
Fall of El Músculo II[]
In the late 1990's the Police force began to crack down on the Diablos gang, arresting many high ranking figures, including El Músculo. The gang diminished greatly after the crack down and many of their former businesses were now defunct, making other gangs such as the Yardies and Spanish Lords taking over a lot of their businesses. The Diablos began to split apart, with new sets being created such as the, Loco Hermanos Diablos and the Liberty Diablos. These sets began to beef against each other to try to be the main set, though the infighting later stopped when a few OG's managed to unite the gang, though still with the sets existing. As time went on the Diablos were considered a small and not very dangerous gang by the police and other gangs. While in prison, El Músculo began to get back in contact with the gang, leading it from prison. He got the gang into the adult entertainment industry, the gang then began to supply Adult magazines into the city, making a lot of money from it, as it was a business that not many gangs had not gotten into. El Músculo still leads the gang from inside of prison, and the OG's enforce what he says and tell the younger members.
Influence[]
The Diablos are based on the Ñetas, the two share may similarities. Both gangs are Puerto Rican. The colours of the Diablos are Blue, White and Red, the colour of the Puerto Rican Flag, The Ñetas also flag these colours. This further shows the relation between the two gangs. More similarities include the beef with the Spanish Lords and United Ballas Nation gangs, the Ñetas beef the Latin Kings and the United Bloods Nation, the gangs that the two are based off of. Ñetas are also only located in the Tri-State area and Upstate areas and Diablos are based in Upstate. Both gangs were founded in the 60's as means if protection from other gangs, such as the Latin Kings (for the Ñetas) and the Spanish Lords (for the Ñetas). A difference may include the Diablos beef some United Ballas Nation sets and are cool with others, whereas the Ñetas beef all United Bloods Nation sets.
