The Angels of Death Motorcycle Club New Zealand is an outlaw biker gang operating in New Zealand as a branch off the American sect, Angels of Death. The Angels motorcycle club founded a chapter in Eden City in the early 1960s and has since taken over gangs throughout the country, both peacefully and forcefully.
History
The Angels of Death MC established its first chapter in Eden City in 1961, marking a major milestone as the first international expansion of the club outside the United States. This development was significant in the history of outlaw motorcycle gangs in New Zealand, as it laid the foundation for biker gangs and the club's global presence.
The Eden chapter quickly gained influence, absorbing smaller local gangs and solidifying its dominance in the region. Its structure mirrored that of its American counterpart, featuring an elected president, vice-president, and sergeant-at-arms, with membership symbolized by the iconic circular back patch adorned with top and bottom rockers.
This formal model and patch jackets soon became the standard for many motorcycle gangs across New Zealand, such as the Cross Breed, Natives MC, and the Devil's Advocates NZ.

Samael Cain
“Every deal, every dollar, every decision flows through me.” |
Andrew "Samael" Cain is the undisputed leader of the Angels of Death's New Zealand chapter, a veteran of the outlaw biker world and a symbol of the gang's unrelenting dominance over the country's criminal underworld. As president of the Eden City-based chapters, Samael wields unparalleled authority, commanding respect not only within his chapter but across the global network of Angels of Death.
Samael's story is one of longevity and power. A patched member since 1982, his rise within the gang is marked by his intelligence, charisma, and an unyielding dedication to the Angels' code. His tenure as the gang's world secretary, a position of significant influence, cemented his status as a key figure in the international biker scene. Now, as the president of the New Zealand chapter, Samael oversees all operations, from recruitment to international drug trafficking, making him one of the most powerful figures in the gang's history.
Samson Saint-John
“You ride with me, you rise with me.” |
Samson is the Sergeant-at-Arms for the notorious Angels of Death. Samson's reputation is built on his iron grip over the gang's drug trafficking empire, a network that extends across borders and dominates the illegal drug trade in New Zealand.
Samson's greatest claim to infamy came in 2021, when he orchestrated one of the boldest drug trafficking operations in the gang's history. Working with corrupt freight companies and international smugglers, Samson coordinated the shipment of 1450kg of high-grade methamphetamine hidden inside a rotary separator airfreighted from the Philippines. The haul, worth over $7 million, flooded Eden City's black market, cementing the Angels of Death's dominance in the drug trade.
