The Cresta Cartel, also known as the Cartel del Cresta Colombiano or simply referred to as the Crests, is a powerful and highly organized transnational Colombian drug cartel. Currently one of the largest drug barons in South America, they represent a prominent, efficient, and dangerous organization that was among the first to officially stake their claim over New Zealand.
Originally based out of the longest continental mountain range in the world, the renowned Andes Mountains, they originated in a part of Colombia characterized by vast, remote jungle and mountain areas suitable for discreet cocaine production, which is where they got their name.
History
The Cresta Cartel was once closely associated with the powerful Medalla Cartel, acting as a regional extension of their operations. However, after the Medalla Cartel's fall in 1993, the Cresta Cartel lost much of its influence and connections. Stripped of their former power, they have spent decades rebuilding their network and reputation independently, struggling to reclaim a fraction of the dominance they once enjoyed under Medalla's shadow. Despite their diminished status, the Cresta Cartel remains a persistent force in the drug trade, intent on restoring their legacy.
