With a reputation for leveraging blackmail and controlling secrets, the Midnight Society thrives in the shadows, leaving a legacy of opulence, power, and hedonism that echoes far beyond Eden City's limits.

The Midnight Society features in Grand Theft Auto: Gangland.

History

The Midnight Society was founded in 2012 by Dianne Thomann-Summers, a former Berlin fashionista and nightlife mogul notorious for her scandals and cunning. Initially created as an exclusive club for supercar enthusiasts and elite partiers, the Society quickly evolved into a white-collar crime syndicate. With its roots in Berlin's underground scene, the Society thrived under Dianne's leadership, blending opulence with secrecy. The Society's power lies in its ability to manipulate, profiting from their members' darkest secrets while blowing their fortunes on extravagant parties, luxury cars, and exclusive events.

When Dianne relocated to Eden City in 2014, she brought the Society's hedonistic culture with her, establishing the Margrave nightclub as its headquarters. The Margrave became a haven for uninhibited revelry and excess. Regulars describe the experience as unparalleled, with parties that span entire weekends. While the club attracts a wide crowd, its true magic comes alive on Sundays when the most devoted dancers and techno enthusiasts take over, creating an unmatched atmosphere of unity and euphoria.

The Margrave captures the essence of underground techno culture: pulsating, stripped-down beats echoing through a space designed for uninhibited freedom. Located in a repurposed historic building at the heart of Central Eden, the club sprawls across eight floors, featuring dance floors, bars, strip clubs, hotel rooms, and shadowy dark rooms. Its cutting-edge sound systems and maze-like layout create an atmosphere both thrilling and disorienting.

The Margrave's reputation for decadence is legendary. Bathrooms double as drug dens, BDSM red rooms host questionably aged prostitutes, and sex and nudity are openly celebrated as forms of self-expression in this judgment-free zone. However, hidden cameras throughout the club tell a darker story. Far from being just a playground for the elite, the Margrave is a carefully orchestrated trap designed to blackmail Eden City's wealthiest and most influential figures, securing the Midnight Society's dominance in both the city's nightlife and its underworld.

Insignia

Despite having the reputation of a car society, the Midnight Society is known for their fashion statements rather than their driving abilities, and members are more likely to use their luxury vehicles as fashion accessories rather than utility. It is uncommon to see a member in the driver's seat, preferring chauffeurs to drive, as they prefer to lean or sit on their vehicles so that their entire outfit is displayed bodaciously.

Famous for wearing top-of-the-line high-class clothing brands like those featured at Ponsonbys, as well as high fashion, designer, and archival pieces, the Society prides itself on being at the forefront of style. Members are unafraid to push boundaries, constantly experimenting with new trends, blending vintage and modern aesthetics, and even embracing crossdressing to make daring fashion statements. To them, the Midnight Society isn't just about luxury—it's about embodying and redefining opulence through style.

Champions are elite illegal street racers hired by the Midnight Society to represent them in high-stakes races across Eden City. These races are thrilling spectacles, with the Midnight Society watching from helicopters as their Champions tear through city streets, highways, and off-road courses, competing for massive bets.

Dianne Thomann-Summers spares no expense in recruiting the best talent to ensure her dominance over rivals like Hammerstein and The Successors. Among her most renowned Champions is Michael Riley, code-named Ladykiller, a precise and calculating racer. Another standout, though more reckless and unpredictable, is Kwak, code-named Quack, whose flair and audacity make him a fan favorite despite his chaotic style.
