Grand Theft Auto: Gangland Silent Killers Theme

The Silent Killers (조용한 살인자), also known as Kwak's Gang, are a younger and more daring Korean faction that broke away from the traditional Jopok Mob. Led by Kwak, a flamboyant K-Rock star and the son of the Jopok's unknown leader, the Silent Killers rejected the Mob's rigid traditions and secrecy in favor of a flashier, more reckless lifestyle.

The Silent Killers quickly made a name for themselves in the chaotic underworld of Eden City, pouring their resources into illegal gambling, high-stakes street racing, and flaunting their wealth on social media. While they were once a rebellious faction within the Jopok, their desire for freedom and fun ultimately led them to split from the Mob entirely.

Despite this, the Silent Killers maintain a tenuous relationship with their former mentors, occasionally collaborating on operations when their interests align.

History

Background

The Silent Killers trace their origins to the younger generation of the Jopok Mob, but in 2023, they forged their own path. Frustrated by the Jopok's rigid traditions and secrecy, Kwak, the son of Seonbae, led a bold split, taking most of the younger Korean gangsters with him. Unlike the Jopok, who prioritized discretion and cultural values, the Silent Killers sought a freer, more audacious lifestyle, embracing the chaos of Eden City with a focus on street racing, social media clout, and a flashier approach to crime.

Kwak

Kwak

The leader of the Silent Killers, Kwak is a flamboyant and unpredictable wild card in his late 20s, and the son of the Jopok Mob leader "Seonbae". A lover of gambling and flaunting his wealth, Kwak is also a K-Rock artist with a solid social media following, regularly showing off his lavish lifestyle. Known for his adrenaline-charged antics, he frequently races against the Raizoku, using these events as both entertainment and a way to show off on socials. His reputation even earned him a spot as one of the Midnight Society's Champions on a few occasions.

"2000"

“I'm shining brighter than your Güffy and riches right here. Of course, I'm super cute—why don't you know?”
2000

Known as "2000" within the Silent Killers, Lee Min-jae is a dynamic and creative force. Born in 2000 in South Korea as Lee Hyeon-yi, Min-jae struggled with the rigid societal expectations of his home country. After moving to Eden City as a teen with the Silent Killers, he embraced his identity as a transgender man and found his place in the gang, where his dual talents as a social media fraud mastermind and K-Rap artist made him a standout figure.

As a social media fraud specialist, 2000 creates fake personas and orchestrates elaborate scams to funnel money into the Silent Killers' operations. His K-Rap career adds another dimension to his influence, giving the gang a public face while subtly promoting their reputation through his lyrics. His performances attract new recruits and allies, while his scams fund the gang's flashy lifestyle.

Jopok Mob

Karibatsu

Unlike the Jopok, the Silent Killers maintain a friendly relationship with the Japanese Karibatsu. While the Jopok harbors hostility toward most Japanese groups, the Silent Killers have found common ground with the Karibatsu through their shared love of street racing and nightlife. The two groups frequently engage in friendly races, fostering mutual respect and camaraderie.

Kwak is particularly close with key Karibatsu members, including their leader Shoyo Nishida, Money Nakanishi, and Shoko. Known for their wild parties and late-night escapades, the four are often seen drinking together, forming a bond that transcends ethnic and gang rivalries and showcases the Silent Killers' more relaxed and inclusive approach to their operations.

Midnight Society

The Silent Killers maintain a working relationship with the Midnight Society, Eden City's elite and enigmatic car and nightlife club. As the queen of Eden City's high-speed underground racing scene, Dianne Summers occasionally hires Kwak as one of her racing Champions. While his bold and chaotic style makes him a thrilling competitor, it also leads to mixed results. Kwak has won as many races as he's lost, often due to getting carried away in the heat of the moment.

Rivals

Izanami-kai

The Silent Killers have a begrudging rivalry with the Izanami-kai Yakuza, largely fueled by the Yakuza's disdain for their Korean heritage and their ties to the Jopok Mob. While the Yakuza view the Silent Killers as reckless and beneath their traditional values, the Silent Killers see the Yakuza's hatred as nothing more than outdated prejudice.

Unlike the Yakuza, who harbor a deep-seated animosity, the Silent Killers don't give much thought to their rivals, dismissing them as overly traditional and stiff. They prefer to focus on their own chaotic, carefree operations, only clashing with the Yakuza when directly provoked or when their interests overlap, such as in Eden City's underground racing circuits or street-level turf disputes.

Raizoku

The Silent Killers have an intense rivalry with the Raizoku, a Japanese car society renowned for their dominance in New Zealand's illegal street racing and aftermarket customization scene. The Raizoku's access to rare, high-end illegal aftermarket parts gives them a competitive edge that infuriates Kwak and the Silent Killers. Raizoku cars, often equipped with custom modifications no one else can acquire, have become a symbol of frustration for Kwak, whose passion for racing is fueled by a desire to outshine his rivals.

At the center of this rivalry is S?, the enigmatic leader of the Raizoku. S' calm, calculating demeanor clashes with Kwak's chaotic and flamboyant personality, creating a personal animosity that intensifies the rivalry between their groups. For Kwak, beating S? isn't just about settling a score... it's about proving that raw talent and fearless determination can triumph over exclusivity and pay-to-win parts. Every race between the Silent Killers and the Raizoku becomes a battle for pride and supremacy, with Kwak determined to one day dethrone his elusive rival.
