Midpoint International Airport (MIA) is an international airport located in the city of Champaign, Jolliet, located on the northwestern side of the city in the Far North Side district. It is bordered by the east to the neighborhoods of Suburban Park and Daley Square. The MIA district is also the location for nearby warehouses, resturants, and hotels.

It is based on both the O'hare and Midway International Airports in Chicago.

Description[]

The airport consists of two terminals, both on the eastern side, and four runways. Arrivals are at the bottom and departures on top.

MIA is connected too the Francis Expressway through an exit in the Midpoint district. It is connected to City of Champaign Transit (CCT) by three metro stations.

The airport is very high security and has NOOSE guards who are armed with Carbine Rifles and will shoot at any trespasser.

Locations[]

Exterior[]

The exterior of the airport, where the entrance to the main terminals are, is located east of the runways. There are two entrance gates into the airport. On entrance, There are eight parked aircrafts, six on terminal 1 and two on terminal two. Each plane belongs to a different airline. Behind the runways are three aircraft hangars that fit two aircrafts each. North of the runways, is the TopTree by Flats Champaign Midpoint Hotel. South of the runways are three helipads.

Terminals[]

There are two terminals that are connected to the entrance building on the southwest side. Both terminals are used by multiple airlines. Terminal 1 is used by six airlines while terminal 2 is used by two airlines.

Terminal 1 (Left Side): Air Herler, Air Emu, MyFly

Terminal 1 (Right Side): Los Santos Air, Midwest Air, Alpha Airlines

Terminal 2: FlyUS, Adios Airlines

Tarmacs, Runways, and Helipads[]

There are two vast tarmacs, one on the eastern side covering the parked planes and more, and one on the west covering the hangars. There is usually two private planes parked by the hangars on the southwest side of the airport and one small plane on the northwest side.

There are four runways at the airport, Runway 12-S, Runway 13-L, Runway 14-L, and Runway 15. Runway 12-S, is for small, personal, pilot only planes. It is the smallest runway of the four. Runway 13-L is for large commercial planes. These runways both face the southwest direction and its main destinations are places like Los Santos or Las Venturas. Runway 14-L is for large commercial planes also. Runway 15 is for small private jets. Both of these runways face the northeast direction and its main destinations are places like Liberty City or Alderney.

Hangars[]

There are a total of three hangars, each belonging to two airlines. The hangar on the northern side is for Air Herler and Air Emu aircrafts, the middle hangar for MyFly and Midwest Air aircrafts, and the southern one for FlyUS and Adios Airlines aircrafts.

Transport[]

The MIA is well served by the City of Champaign Transit due to how active it is. There is a MIA Parking Station underground under the airport for travelers to park their cars. There is also a nearby car rental shop called Escalera Rent-A-Car.
