Rabbit Season is set in the 4K Universe.

Rabbit Season is a mission in a Grand Theft Auto: Black Hand given to protagonist Riccardo Sorelli by Ethel Bloomfield.

Plot[]

Ethel was staring at unfinished Aches Bank as the construction workers were working hard in constructing the bank before Riccardo approached before walking across the street to take seat on the bench with Riccardo following as she thanked him again for returning her pendants before she sheepishly asked if he wouldn't mind taking her to hunt some rabbits in which Riccardo jokingly asked if the stores upped the price again in which she gave a light snicker before telling him that she used to go hunting with her dad all the time before he passed from the San Fierro plague. Riccardo felt bad for his joke before agreeing to take her hunting before she asked him to take her to place so she can get a few things to which he agreed.

As he drove over to Ethel's place, Ethel explained that her uncle took her hunting with her while they were living in Sosed, Moshenick (Nome, Alaska) due to her uncle chasing the gold rushes with Riccardo asking whether he was successful with Ethel confirming that he made enough to live comfortably but the greed drove her aunt away and caused her to abandoned her uncle with father becoming resentful of his brother for convincing him to drop everything and take to Moshenick. She explained that they moved to San Fierro a few years before the plague hit the city and her uncle died without ever rekindling with her aunt.

Upon arrival at Ethel's place; she asked Riccardo to wait for her to get ready before leaving the automobile and making her way inside as he waited patiently for her. Ethel finally returned after a 32 minutes with a rifle casing in her left hand while wearing a white polka dot shirt, with blue denim trousers, suspenders, brown boots, and a light brown hat. She placed her rifle casing in the back of Riccardo's Kitten before getting in the passenger's seat as she told him to head over to the Annabelle Township as she knew about some rabbits near Pronghorn Creek (Deer Creek) with Riccardo agreeing to take her over. As they began road trip; Ethel continued her earlier conversation by revealing that she tried to find her aunt after her uncle died, but her father, Robert, convinced her to let her aunt remain in the past with Riccardo giving her sympathies before asking her why she came to city with her replying that her father got a job for the Groundhog Baking Powder Company factory within the city limits, and thus they moved from San Fierro before mentioning that it also felt like they needed to turn a new leaf after a her mother died to the plague. Riccardo told her that she appeared to a case of bad luck with the San Fierro plague to which Ethel declared that she didn't believe in luck, but karma as she stated that uncle's greed and her mother's promiscuity brought sin to her family and thus believed karma simply issued judgement to her family. Riccardo questioned Ethel about her mother's promiscuity in which Ethel revealed that her mother used to sell herself to make money given that her mother was raised on the street and had nothing.

Upon arrival by Pronghorn Creek; Riccardo and Ethel got out of the car with Ethel retrieving her varmint rifle from the back as she told him to follow her as she'll give him a lesson in hunting with him thanking her as he followed her. The player will get a tutorial in Riccardo's Treasure Eyes which can be used to locate loot, animal tracks, and flora. Using his "talents", Riccardo managed to identify some rabbit tracks as did Ethel as she told him to follow her. She or Riccardo identified a pair of eastern cottontail rabbit to which Ethel told him to take out one while she will take out the other to which they took out both rabbits with Ethel telling him to skin the rabbit... Ethel gave Riccardo a pouch for him to place the skin in before telling him to follow her back to the car to stow their game.

After stowing the car, Ethel and Riccardo were cleaning their hands when a rifle butt - had struck Riccardo in the back of the head, knocking him out. When he awoke, he found himself alone with the rabbits gone as well as Ethel while his automobile was in flames. Riccardo surmised that Ethel was kidnapped and used his Treasure Eyes to identify some wagon tracks and surmised that FORE had abducted Ethel. He followed the wagon tracks north to a large property with a two-floor cobblestone house with a small shed. He broke his way into house as he searched it for Ethel and found four letters with the first letters being a letter from John Eastern.

From Saint Denis
To: MacDonald Knightley
Pronghorn Creek
John Eastern

I am afraid that I can no longer spare anymore expense towards the fraternity's cause as the Investigation Bureau were investigating the activities of FORE and treating any act of financing as cooperation with FORE. As Senator of Lemoyne - I cannot risk my position and will find a new way to support your cause.

The second letter was a letter to Robert Bloomfield.

From Pronghorn Creek
To: Robert Bloomfield
Heartworks
MacDonald Knightley

I am giving you one more week to send my bride-to-be to my address. Your continued delay will now increase the dowry to $4500 in gold and you will attend the ceremony, willing or otherwise.

The third letter was a letter from Pastor Christopher Drivers.

From Heartworks
To: MacDonald Knightley
Pronghorn Creek
Father Christopher Drivers

I had convened with my congregation and have decided that in good conscience that I will not be presiding over your marriage as we agreed that it seemed to be a forced marriage. No true catholic would ever section a forced marriage, but if you managed to get her consent without coercion, I will agree to preside."

The fourth letter was partially burnt with some of it still readable. The burnt letter read.

From Wezheget
To: MacDonald Knightley
Pronghorn Creek

After reading the fourth letter; he heard a noise from upstairs and decided that he would go upstairs and commented he'd could do some looting before doing so. The loot he can steal consists of a necklace, a silver wristwatch, a spoon set, and a Gold Tooth in a skull on mantle. Making his way up to the second floor as he searched the area before noting that Ethel wasn't around with a few lootables being an alarm clock, a pearl necklace, and a Platinum Sapphire Bracelet before noticing a light coming from underneath the door to the shed. He made his way over to the shed and found an electric lantern on the ground before hearing someone walking around shed before they revealed themselves to be MacDonald Knightley before demanding that Riccardo leave his property and his bride forever before Riccardo chastised him for his unchristian behavior to which MacDonald angrily told him that he sounded like the "twisted" priest. Riccardo called MacDonald a deluded Confederate lover prompting MacDonald to order his men to kill Riccardo with Riccardo taking cover behind a crate. After taking out MacDonald's men; Riccardo ran outside to see MacDonald and a few more of his men force Ethel onto the back of a prison wagon variant of the Punches, as he told his men to not let the n*****-lover follow him before they noticed Riccardo and MacDonald ordered them to kill him as he began fleeing as Ethel called out to Riccardo.

Riccardo forces his way through MacDonald's men and chased on foot after the wagon with fleeing east and tore up some poor farmer's wheat field, however, as he attempted to make a sharp turn on uneven terrain caused the horse to trip and the wagon fell onto its side with MacDonald taking the chance to flee with Riccardo focusing on Ethel as he shot open the prison wagon and helped Ethel out of the wagon as she thanked him for saving her before asking him to take her home. The farmer of wheat field approached them with a rifle drawn as he demanded information with Riccardo revealing what happened to which the farmer introduced himself as Reginald Wills before asking who drove the wagon with Riccardo telling him that it was some confederate sympathizer with Reginald lowering his weapon and telling him to come with him as they led them to his V-Type L as he asked them where they need to go with Ethel asking him to drop the pair of them in Heartworks with him agreeing.

A few hours later - Riccardo and Ethel had been dropped off them off at Ethel's place with Riccardo holding a pair of rabbits with Ethel thanking Riccardo for saving her life and told him that she couldn't repay him before telling her that she would forever be in his debt before tossing him a quarter eagle. Riccardo apologized to her but she told him that he had nothing to apologized before going inside as she told him that she'll be staying home for a while.
