- ❝The Vapid Torrence is a true enigma. With its police variant only really being popular with the LSPD (something about 'terrible safety' and 'high maintenance', which the LSPD has no concept of), the civilian-spec Torrence was released to offset its poor fleet sales, but it only really sold in the Midwest and Canada, and is now unusually rare everywhere else. Own an unreliable, unsafe piece of recent automotive 'history' today.❞
- — Southern San Andreas Super Autos description.
The Vapid Torrence is a four-door sedan featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The S.A.H.P. Update.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Torrence is essentially a civilian variant of the Police Interceptor, based on the sixth-generation Ford Taurus The default rims resemble the hubcaps found on the 2017 facelifted Ford Fusion.
The Torrence shares the exact same design as the Police Interceptor, as well as a similar interior, albeit without any police equipment. The only real exterior difference on the Torrence is the different default grille, consisting of two large louvers, similar in appearance to the civilian Ford Taurus.
Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Torrence shares similar performance with the Police Interceptor; however, as a less-powerful civilian version, it has slightly lower acceleration and less grip. In spite of these downgrades, the Torrence's top speed is slightly higher, likely due to the lack of heavy police equipment. Despite its lacking customization and appearance,
The Torrence is powered by an Inline-4 engine coupled with a 5-speed gearbox in a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. The engine sound is smooth but aggressive, and is shared by the Police Interceptor.
