Watanabe Minato (Japanese: 渡辺みなと) is a character appearing as one of the two protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Brigade along with Yamamoto Haruto.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Watanabe Minato was born in Tokyo, the largest city in Japan, on May 17, 2007. In 2009, He became an older brother when his sister, Hana, was born. Like Haruto, Minato had a hard childhood as neither he nor Hana met their father and their mother was an alcoholic who constantly brought male prostitutes over.
Minato attended 9 different schools in the Tokyo and Yokohama areas. When he was 13, he was kicked out of music class for being too hyperactive and a year later, he was not allowed to join the drama class. He eventually dropped out at the age of 15 to begin a life of crime. Him and around 10 other friends made a street gang called, Shinda Zugaikotsu (Abbreviated as SZ). Both him and his best friend Kobayashi Kaito began shoplifting and stealing stuff like weapons and candy. When he turned 18, he later started stealing and dealing drugs and cars with Kaito. During this time, Minato meets one of his high-school ex-girlfriends, Hayashi Fumiko, and they decide to get back together and start dating again.
Events of Brigade[]
SZ's main rivals are Nintai-ryoku ga nai, lead by Takahashi Hiroto. One day in 2029, Minato and SZ try to deal drugs with Nintai-ryoku to improve relationships between the two, however the deal goes wrong and Nintai-ryoku are now in an active shootout with SZ. Then, Yoru officers arrive and start making arrests. Minato is later arrested and taken into the police car where they later take him to Chosi City Prison.
While in prison, Minato meets Yamamoto Haruto, an experienced Yakuza member. Eventually, Haruto and Minato find a way to escape Chosi City Prison and drive back to Yokohama. Haruto and Minato later develop somewhat of a father-son relationship.

Minato is a loud-voiced but kind, selfless character with his friends and family. He is also friendly with the people that he meets.

- Minato was born in May 17, 2007 as it was shown on the screen when he was getting arrested and the Yoru were typing his information. His bleeter username is also @wm2007 (WM being his initials, and 2007 being his birth year).
- Minato is the only protagonist with more than one pet as he owns two dogs.
- Minato is better than Haruto in Soccer, but Haruto is better in Tennis.
